Phoenix Lets Dembow Off the Hook – Now It’s Up to Voters to Push Him Into Retirement

We have not been shy about our disdain for Paradise Valley Town Councilman Paul Dembow. After his infamous cross-stealing incident, we had hopes that the judicial system would deal a significant blow to his re-election campaign. We recently spoke about how his case had been bouncing around the area’s legal jurisdictions.

Unfortunately, it seems as though our hopes are dashed. The Phoenix court system recently declined to take up the case, noting that the chances of conviction would be low. Granted, the video footage isn’t incredibly clear, especially with the event happening at night, but giving the totality of evidence we tend to think that conviction would at least have a chance (perhaps wishful thinking).

Again, Dembow escapes consequences for his (alleged) bad actions. So what now? Now, there seems to be only one potential avenue for recourse: the ballot box.

Dembow is running for his 4th term, an absolutely unnecessary exercise in narcissism in our humble option. Along with current Town Councilmember Ellen Andeen who is running for re-election, there is a new entrant that hopes to push him out of his seat: local realtor Christine Labelle. Additionally, Anna Thommason is running for reelection. All of them would be better options than Dembow.

We have repeatedly spoken about his unsuitability for office, so instead of regaling you with all the reasons why he is unfit for office, we invite you to read our previous articles about him. The reasons are myriad.

Unfortunately, the wheels of justice stopped for Dembow, and he will likely head to the election without an embarrassing conviction for opponents to tout. So now we must put our faith in the voters of Paradise Valley. We ask you to look at the totality of evidence as to his unsuitability and make the right decision. Regardless of who you vote for, we ask that you absolutely do not vote for him. He needs to be separated from the halls of power.
