City Council to Revisit Budget Review Commission at 1st City Council Meeting of 2025
On January 14, 2025, the Scottsdale City Council will consider re-establishing the Budget Review Commission, last active from 2009 to 2011. Previous budget review efforts include a Council Budget Subcommittee (2003–2006) and a Citizen Budget Review Committee (1993–2002), all aimed at improving transparency and fiscal oversight.
Bill Murphy Appointed Acting City Manager
Scottsdale City Council has named Bill Murray as Interim City Manager. Murray brings extensive experience in public administration, having previously served as Scottsdale’s Deputy City Manager and holding leadership roles in finance and community services.
Scottsdale Wins Digital Cities Award for 2nd Year in a Row
For the second year, Scottsdale earned the Digital Cities Award, recognized for advancing data governance, creating a Data Council, and expanding regional fiber networks to support 22 municipalities.

The Development Review Board approved several projects on January 9, 2025. Highlights include Aria @ Silverstone’s 100-townhouse preliminary plat at 22602 N. 74th Street, Papago Village’s 94 one-story units and a two-story clubhouse at 6200-6300 Oak Street, and a new 472-space, four-story garage at Honor Health Shea, located at 9003 E. Shea Boulevard. The next City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 14
