Friends, another year has come and gone, and with it new personal records. This humble little blog which is primarily focused on Scottsdale and Paradise Valley events, politics, and lifestyle has gone around the sun one more time, and what a great year it’s been!
We have once again set a new record in our readership with over 121,000 readers! That was over a 9% increase over 2023’s record-breaking year. You have visited our site over 151,000 times collectively. And further demonstrating our ascendence as a blog of importance in our neck of the woods, over 88,000 of our readers are from Arizona!
So what can you expect going forward?
As you probably know, both Scottsdale and Paradise Valley have new mayors and a new city council, so we will be following those closely and keep you up-to-date on any fundamental shifts in governance and policy. You may have noticed our question and answer sessions of incoming and outgoing local leaders; we aim to bring you closer to our electeds and lift the veil of the political process.
More than that however, you may have noticed that we have been widening the scope of our pieces. We understand that you are interested in more than just local politics and policy; you are also interested in Arizona sports and lifestyle, and where those items intersect we will be delivering unique takes. Our most read article was regarding former NFL star Eddie Lacy’s DUI in Scottsdale, so expect more similar pieces going forward.
As always, we won’t be afraid to take a stance and have an opinion. As always, we won’t guarantee that we’ll be right, just that we’ll often be right. We promise that our takes will be well thought-out and balanced, and while you may not agree with everything, we hope that it prompts you to think and challenge your priors.
As we wrap up the new year, we want to say THANK YOU for continuing to trust us with your time. Please continue to read and to leave comments, we read them all (even the un-nice ones), and believe that we are all better off from a robust conversation.
