“Scottsdale represents a relatively untapped market for an event of this size and scale, creating a prime opportunity for galleries to introduce their programs and artists to new audiences,” said Scottsdale Art Week Director Amy Gause, noting that the city has emerged as the nation’s fastest-growing hub for millionaires. “Our focus was to create an international art fair that feels relevant to today’s collectors, connecting leading galleries with an engaged audience that is actively buying and positioned to acquire significant work.”
In addition to welcoming 120+ galleries, Scottsdale Art Week will feature a robust
lineup of cultural programming offered in partnership with the likes of Phoenix Art Museum, Arizona State University Art Museum, the Heard Museum, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, the Center for Creative Photography, The Denver Art Museum and Heritage Auctions. Topics include curatorial and artistic practice, art collection care and preservation, photography, global market trends, LatinX art, Indigenous contemporary art, the relationship between art and design, Western art, and the changes and dynamics impacting today’s art market, among others.
First Look offers collectors an exclusive VIP opportunity to acquire works for their collections, with early access to the fair from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Thursday, March 19. Guests will be the first to explore thousands of works presented by leading international galleries in an intimate setting well before the public opening.
An Opening Night Vernissage will follow from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday, March 19 at WestWorld. Benefiting Phoenix Art Museum, the Opening Night Vernissage presents an opportunity for guests to view and acquire works before the public opening and will feature a fashion presentation of wearable art courtesy of Galina Mihaleva, from Arizona State University’s FIDM. Attendees will also see several arts industry leaders receive prestigious awards during the opening night celebration.
