Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale Launches New Charity Initiative to Help Those Harmed by the Pandemic

(SCOTTSDALE) — During these unprecedented times, Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale is proud to announce a new charitable initiative that will help Valley charities during this difficult time.

D.R.I.V.E, which stands for Donations for Recovery & Investment that are Very Essential, will kick off a year-long campaign focusing on supporting and highlighting local causes. The initiative is a continuation of Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale’s historic commitment to supporting organizations that improve our communities.

In the past owners Chuck and Anita Theisen have supported such causes as the Jones-Gordon School (which helps twice exceptional students), Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association, Homeward Bound, Arizona Science Center, HopeKids, Health Network Foundation, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Mayo Clinic and Valley View Leadership.

“As we all experience unprecedented events, Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale is grateful to be in a position to assist organizations that provide services that are essential, now more than ever.  We are so excited to announce that we will be donating $5,000 each month towards local causes and charities that have been significantly impacted by recent events and to begin the initiative, our initial donation will go to support the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation,” said Co-Owner Anita Theisen.

The dealership selected Phoenix-based Fresh Start as the first charity to help due to a rise in domestic violence that has been a tragic result of the pandemic. Fresh Start Women’s Foundation helps provide education, resources and support for women during difficult times.

“The Fresh Start Women’s Foundation is excited to announce they are the inaugural recipient of a $5,000 donation from the D.R.I.V.E. (Donations for Recovery & Investment that are Very Essential) Initiative, created by their friends at Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale, located across from Scottsdale Fashion Square.  The funds donated will be used to support the critically-needed programs and services offered to the women served during this time of crisis,” said CEO Susan Berman.

A new charity will be announced each month with a $5,000 check to follow. The dealership is appealing to all their customers to join them each month via emails and social media posts.

“We hope everyone can also join us in supporting our D.R.I.V.E. initiative and each month we will be encouraging all in our dealership’s extended family to also donate to these incredible organizations. Now more than ever small businesses and non-profit organizations need our support to help get through these challenging times,” said Theisen.
