Old Town Parking Garage Expansion Moves Forward
Design work continues for the planned two-level expansion of the Old Town Brown/1st Street parking garage. According to city staff, a public open house is expected later this fall to share options with residents. In response to a petition requesting a new garage location instead of expansion, the City Manager has issued a written reply, but the Brown/1st Street site remains under active consideration.
Court to Hear Prop 490 Challenge on August 29
The legal challenge to Proposition 490 moves forward this month. Arguments between the Goldwater Institute and the City of Scottsdale will be heard in Maricopa County Superior Court on Friday, August 29th, beginning at 1:30 p.m. The case will determine the future of Prop 490 and its impact on Scottsdale residents.
WestWorld Collector’s Garage Moves Forward
On July 23, 2025, the Scottsdale Planning Commission unanimously approved a zoning change (6–0) for the proposed Collector’s Garage at WestWorld. The 5.08-acre site at 9875 and 9909 E. McDowell Mountain Ranch Road would shift from Single-Family Residential to General Commercial with a Development Plan. The case now goes to City Council on August 25, 2025.
